Why ESG matters to us

Environmental
At our company, we are deeply committed to environmental sustainability. We focus on minimising greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing energy efficiency. Our water management strategies aim to monitor and reduce consumption, while our waste reduction initiatives prioritise recycling and minimising landfill contributions. Additionally, we aim to ensure that our sourcing of raw materials takes environmental impact into account.
Our sustainability programmes
Diverting waste from landfill
We separate waste at source and partner with external service providers to recycle and recover material, working towards zero waste to landfill.
Sustainable sourcing
We are committed to increasing the responsible sourcing of our raw materials by taking environmental and social impacts into account. This includes sourcing raw materials containing RSPO-certified palm oil.
Recyclable packaging
We’re transitioning to a multi-layer paper bag, supplied by an external packaging provider, as part of more circular approach to packaging.
Our social programmes

Synercore Impact is our dedicated Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) engagement programme. It’s built to create culture where everyone takes ownership of safety, health and sustainability, on the basis that the choices people make every day affect their colleagues, their workplace and the environment around them. Consistently making the right decisions contributes to a safer, healthier, more sustainable workplace.

Synercore Support is an employee wellbeing initiative from our HR department, offering staff access to practical guidance and resources that support both personal and professional life.Through regular sessions and awareness content, the programme is designed to help our people thrive at work and beyond it.

At Synercore, we are committed to conducting business in a socially responsible way. It's our goal to consistently consider the needs of our employees, the environment, and our country's youth. We are proud to provide sponsorships, impart knowledge, and participate in fundraising events for a variety of community organisations.

Governance
Synercore's food safety management is certified to FSSC 22000, covering food defense, food fraud, allergen control and supplier management. Allmark Foods (Pretoria), Impilo Products and Sizwe Foods operate under a single consolidated FSSC 22000 certificate, reflecting one food safety standard applied consistently across these entities.
